For the reactor, usually in the head flange and the simplified body of the flange, take over the flange, manhole, hand hole, thermometer receiver, sight glass, pressure gauge receiver and other parts of the leakage point using static sealing, because the static sealing is relatively static, generally using different forms of static sealing gaskets.

Leakage point at the gap between the stirring shaft and the kettle body, due to the relative motion of the rotating stirring shaft and the stationary kettle body, to prevent the leakage of the medium using dynamic sealing devices: mechanical seals and packing seals.

Packing seal: the structure is simple, the packing is easy to install and disassemble, but due to some weaknesses of the packing seal, resulting in a shorter applicable life, not applicable in high parameter conditions, such as high temperature, high pressure, high turnover, high vacuum and other conditions.

Mechanical seals: mechanical seals are more widely used in reaction kettle, can be for the specific working conditions of the reactor, the reactor mechanical seals for structural design, material selection, lubrication and cooling measures to consider, in order to meet the process requirements.

Compared with packing seal, mechanical seal has the following characteristics:

1, the seal in the long cycle of operation in the seal state is very reliable, the leakage rate is very small.

2, in the oil, water media in the longer service life, in the chemical medium can usually reach more than half a year.

3, mechanical seal friction power consumption is small, friction power for packing seal 10-50%.
