Sand mill in the grinding process is prone to grinding color paste does not meet the requirements of the phenomenon, will bring us a waste of resources. In order to meet the needs of users, grinding color slurry constantly find out the reasons from the actual operation, so that the fineness of grinding color slurry meets the requirements and improves the work efficiency. Therefore, we analyze the reasons and solutions by analyzing the reasons for grinding color paste not meeting the requirements. The reasons why sand mill grinding color paste does not meet the requirements are as follows.
1、The fineness of the pigment itself is larger than the fineness required by the color paste and cannot be refined. In most cases, the original particle size of the pigment is larger than the fineness required by the color paste.
Solution: Process and crush the pigment further to make its particle size below the fineness required by the color paste, because the dispersing process of the color paste grinding can not solve the problem of further reducing the original particles.
2、High content of pigment impurities, which can not be refined, such as mixing paint skin, fiber, dust, fine sand and other impurities.
Solution: Firstly, we should rely on the pigment supply department to strengthen the management, forbid mixing the impurities and ensure the product quality;
Secondly, when pairing color paste production workshop, strengthen the paint filtration, pay attention to the timely removal of identifiable impurities in the powder; when the mixed impurities are dispersed in the three drums, the full bucket, the remaining bucket operation or the single roller mill tandem should be adopted to make full use of its filtration function.
3、Pigment particles are gathered tightly, such as carbon black, iron blue, etc., which is difficult to be dispersed. In the production process, the following treatments should be carried out:Reasonable adjustment of the process, for example, ball milling or three-roller milling can be used before carbon nanotube sand mill grinding and dispersing. Dispersants can also be used, and the pre-preg of other solvents such as carbon black can also improve the dispersion efficiency.
The above methods may affect the yield, so the pigment should be surface treated to improve the grinding and dispersing performance.
